Privacy Policy & Zero-Telemetry Architecture

JustU Launcher is an open-source, distraction-free Android home screen engineered strictly with on-device computing principles. We believe privacy is a fundamental human right, not an optional feature. The application does not collect, track, transmit, monetize, or sell any personal data, device identifiers, app usage statistics, or user activity. Everything stays sandboxed within your device's physical memory.

All application settings, custom task lists, North Star goals, hidden app preferences, reflection timer records, and UI scale preferences are stored locally on your device within sandboxed Room Database and EncryptedSharedPreferences storage. No cloud backups or remote synchronization services are used. When you clear application data or uninstall the launcher, all locally stored data is permanently removed from your device by Android OS.

JustU Launcher includes an optional, user-enabled Android Accessibility Service (YouTubeShortsBlockerService) specifically engineered to detect and intercept short-form video feeds inside the YouTube application. This service processes accessibility UI hierarchy events exclusively on-device in real-time. It only checks view resource IDs to detect when YouTube Shorts is active and redirects the user away. It does not inspect text contents, record keystrokes, log passwords, capture screenshots, or transmit browsing habits.

JustU Launcher requests only the minimal set of Android runtime permissions necessary to function as your default home screen: • QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES: Required strictly to display installed applications in the alphabetized minimalist text list and launch them when tapped. • SET_WALLPAPER: Allows users to change system wallpaper from within launcher settings. • BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE (Optional): Required only if you choose to enable the YouTube Shorts distraction blocker. All permissions operate exclusively on-device with zero network transmissions.

JustU Launcher contains zero third-party advertising SDKs (e.g., Google AdMob, Unity, Meta Audience Network), zero analytics frameworks (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Adjust, AppsFlyer, Mixpanel), and zero crash-reporting telemetry. The application includes an optional "Buy Me a Coffee" section for users who wish to voluntarily support development. Tapping any donation tier opens an external Razorpay payment link (razorpay.me/@developervishal) in your web browser. No payment processing SDKs, credit card handlers, or financial telemetry exist inside the APK. The entire transaction occurs externally on Razorpay's PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant secure servers. Support is 100% voluntary and grants no exclusive functional privileges — the launcher remains fully featured and free for everyone.

Because JustU Launcher collects zero personally identifiable information (PII), device identifiers, or usage metrics from any user, it complies fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), GDPR-K, and Google Play Families Policy requirements. The application is safe for mindful users of all age groups, students, and children seeking a calm, minimal digital experience.
